Endorcisme

Video installation with 2 retro-projection screens, stereo audio, 3’ loop each, 2017
Sound design : Leo Hofmann

Anchored to the artist’s research domains through ambiguous symbols linked to the light and to optical illusions, this new project is questioning our relationship to nature and knowledge. The diptych video installation Endorcisme uses anthropomorphism and more particularly the figure of Eyes, imagined into the holes of craters, reversed shadows and reflections, through our mental illusions (the “pareidolia” effect). Together with the new cave photo series Mundus, the works support the artist’s research on the image and its underside, unveiling the ambivalence of our gaze and our perception.
